In previous times, many items found on ones life journey were carried to commerorate special events, such as a birth of a child, a marriage, or change of status. These charms were also used to ward off evil and ensure favor of the divine, or to increase luck and fortune during planting or hunting. Each of these items were thought to be embodied with special powers and gifts that could be transferred to the bearer through their unique Spirit.
